354 Food Packs

On the 5 March 2021, Mauritius went into a second lockdown for three weeks – which has been extended for a further four. Even though this period of confinement is not as strict as last year, our vulnerable communities are just as badly affected. The homeless, and families of casual workers, are in desperate need.

During the month of March, the I61 Foundation worked with our registered NGO’s, who have a sound understanding of these communities and their needs. La Trobe Co Ltd distributed 354 food packs and other groceries to 9 villages around Mauritius. Thank you to our funders who responded to our urgent call for support and allowed 354 families a small reprieve during this challenging time.
